For a prominent shipbuilder in Groningen, we are looking for experienced Ironworkers specialized in (Sections or Outfitting). Do you enjoy working in the shipbuilding industry and are you flexible to work through an employment agency? Then this vacancy is perfect for you! You also have the option to work right through the summer holidays.

Who are you?
Are you a skilled craftsman in shipbuilding with solid experience in assembling and fitting ship section or have experience in outfitting? We are seeking a driven and precise Plate Fitter to strengthen our team. In this role, you will collaborate with other skilled professionals to build and assemble various ship sections according to technical specifications and quality standards.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities
Your main focus will be block construction, building and assembling ship sections:
🔹 Assembling and fitting different ship sections together into a complete structure.
🔹 Working strictly according to technical drawings, work plans, and safety regulations.
🔹 Building, assembling, and aligning ship structures using various materials (primarily steel).
🔹 Performing welding (MIG/MAG), cutting, and fitting activities.
🔹 Controlling the quality of completed work and maintaining a safe working environment.
🔹 Collaborating with fellow craftsmen, such as welders, structural fabricators, and engineers, to ensure a high-quality result.

🧠Job Requirements:
🔹 At least a vocational degree or training in Shipbuilding, Metalworking, or a related field.
🔹 Proven track record as a block constructor/fitter in the shipbuilding industry or a similar position.
🔹 Strong experience in reading technical blueprints and operating various (hand) tools.
🔹 Practical knowledge of welding techniques (preferably MIG/MAG) and metal fabrication.
🔹 In possession of a valid VCA safety certificate.
🔹 Able to communicate effectively in Dutch and/or at least in English.
🔹 A true team player with a proactive and quality-driven mindset.
🔹 Willingness to perform in a dynamic and sometimes demanding work environment.
